Loupes & Headlights – how to clean and maintain
The cleaning process of Loupes and Univet Headlights devices is a fundamental operation for the maintenance of your products, which should be carried out daily. If done incorrectly, with makeshift means and quickly, it can cause damage.

General care

Always store the loupes and headlights in their protective case.

Do not place the loupes on a hard surface with the optics in contact with the surface itself to avoid stress on the optics.

Subsequently, dry with a dry cloth.
Maintenance of the loupes
Cleaning:
Use the provided microfiber cloth to clean the lenses.
All other surfaces can be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in a non-aggressive cleaning solution.
Subsequently, dry with a dry cloth.
No to be done:
Do not clean in an ultrasonic bath.
Always avoid immersing the device in water or other liquids.
Maintenance of the lights
Cleaning:
Disconnect the LED from all system components (magnification system, Control Unit) before proceeding with cleaning.
Use a microfibre cloth to clean the lens.
The LED can be cleaned with a soft cloth soaked in a non-aggressive cleaning solution.
Ensure that the device is completely dry before use.
Not to be done:
Do not immerse or spray any component with detergents and other liquids.
The device cannot be sterilised.
Disinfection
It is important that disinfectants are completely removed after use to prevent accumulation on the device, which can lead to deterioration or unexpected damage over time. If necessary, use a cloth moistened with water to remove any residue. Do not immerse the device in water or other liquids.
Finally, dry the device thoroughly, avoiding any accumulation of liquid in the surface structures.
We recommend the following products for disinfecting loupes and lights:
- Sanitizer Surface (Manufacturer: Saniswiss SA): Application method with a wipe
- Caviwipes (Manufacturer: Metrex™ Research): Application method with a wipe
- FD 366 Sensitive Top Wipes (Manufacturer: Dürr Dental SE): Application method with a wipe
The selection of the appropriate disinfectant varies depending on the type of contamination and should be made by the user as part of a specific risk assessment in the working environment.
Manufacturers of disinfectants may change over time, both in terms of the substances used and their concentration. Always check that the product and its composition are suitable for your use.
